Black Friday Matured Me

Thanks to Black Friday, I, for the first time in my adult life have a complete silverware set that is not a mix of cheap crap I have collected through the years.  It only took me 33 years to achieve this goal.  And it was all because of Black Friday:

Isn't it beautiful?  I'm not sure how I lasted this long without real silverware.  We were sporting some Christmas Tree Shop stuff that we got when we got married in 2001.  Then we picked up someone's old remnants along the way.  I'm getting so friggin classy in my old age.

But the point of this really is - Being out for Black Friday I realized the deals for toys and "gifts" were okay.  Nothing to really deprive your sleep for though - a couple things were "ooh" and "ahh" but that was just marketing - get a customer in there for one cheap thing and sell them everything else for normal sale prices.  What I thought was bank though was housewares.  I love Kohl's so I'm speaking more for them - everything for the house was dirt cheap.  Sheet sets that are normally $80 were $16.99.  This silverware set that was originally $159.99 was $47.99.  Towels were like $2.99 and $3.99.  Bath mats, shower curtains, dishes, serving platters - all cheap.

So next year, if you think your stuff is getting all crappy and gross - hold out for Black Friday and score some great deals!  I can't wait for Black Friday next year!  Yahoo!

Nice to see my skeleton straws made it next to your new silverware. Keeping it real. JJ
