Homemade Play-doh!

It's a pretty blah day here. In case you haven't checked out Thrifty Craft Mama, you should! I'm not really all creative or anything. Obviously. But I think her blog is awesome. She has great ideas for cheap things to do with your kids and stuff. Like artsy stuff. Well anyways, we got bored here, so I thought "What would Thrifty Craft Mama do?" And the answer was "Make Play-doh!" We did have a bunch of play-doh but it has been left out, gotten gross and etc. etc. etc. So I googled search "homemade playdoh recipes" only to find a great recipe from Simple Mom - who is actually already on my blog roll!

I grabbed this recipe from SimpleMom.net by clicking HERE. It's really easy - just some flour, water, oil, cream of tartar, salt and food coloring. You have to cook it for like a minute, but it's honestly so easy - even I didn't screw it up!

If I have all these ingredients in my house, well then you should too.

My 3 year-old is all excited!

We made blue, green and yellow. It's really the simplest thing ever. You can store it in a sealed container in the refridgerator. It doesn't have that disgusting play-doh smell. It doesn't stick. It's great.

You can also make playdough without cooking it which is pretty good. There are also good recipes for Gak and oblack out there. Fun to make with the kids then fun to play with after.
