Walmart!

I did a quick stop into Walmart to get juice and bread last night.  I guess I should document all grocery purchases on the blog to keep me honest.  For instance, I did buy a loaf of bread at Target two weeks ago - I didn't blog about it (because really, who cares?) but I did add it into my grocery total.  I never really "grocery shopped" at Walmart before.  I mean, I'll grab goldfish, juice or bread if I'm in there already, but nothing spectacular.  The bread was crazy expensive!  My Wonder Bread (which I usually get as a double pack at BJ's for $2.99) was $2.23 a loaf!  73 cents more a loaf than BJ's!  The 96 oz container of Apple Juice was $1.97 - which is about 35 cents cheaper than a container of BJ's juice.  So it all sort of evens out...

2 96 oz containers of Apple Juice - $1.97 ea
1 loaf of Italian Bread - $1.97

Total:  $5.91

We often find the cheapest prices on cold cereal at Walmart...

We buy the big cellophane bags of "look-a-like cereal at walmart. You get twice as much as the expensive cereal and if you store it in a rubbermaid container-it keeps a really long time. I only buy apples juice at Walmart. Stop and shop is almost double the price.

I think my Walmart has got to be the smallest Walmart known to man. We lived in WA for a while and the Walmart there was ginormous! Half the store was a huge supermarket, complete with deli, bakery and seafood counter - now, my store has 3 half isles of groceries. It's not really even worth it.

Also, whenever people blog about Walmart deals, I might try to see if I can get them at my Walmart - but the prices for the items are literally twice as much as others are reporting (I tried the Ziploc Big bags, Gillete Shampoo, etc). I just gave up on my Walmart here! Maybe it's a northeast thing.
