Make a Tally Sheet so you don't go over your budget!

So you may ask, "How did you get your total just over the $30 mark?"  Well that is easy - if I have no kids with me and a few minutes, I just keep a running tally (and I was off by .98 cents some how in my favor.  Not sure how, but that's okay by me.  I'm not perfect and I can live with that):

I used scrap paper because I'm cheap.  I like math so this didn't take me long or anything.  I was in and out of Shaw's in less than 40 minutes.  It's also easy to go during the morning weekday because no one is there.  This method is really good to use if you have a grocery budget and want to stick to it.  I jotted down the amount I was going to spend AFTER coupons.  I needed to be over $30 after coupons so my $5 would come off.

Another Awesome Bonus to this Shopping Trip was earning 10 extra box tops:

If you haven't already done it, go to GROWING LOCAL LEARNING and sign up.  It's easy and it's free.  And you get 5 bonus box tops just for registering.  Every time you buy 10 or more Box Top items in one transaction at Shaw's, you get a bonus 10 Box Tops printed out that you can enter in the website (really easy to do).

Since I've registered and have been logging my bonus box tops, I've earned 165 Box Tops - which equals $16.50 for my son's school.  It's not a lot, but every little bit helps.
