Went to Stop & Shop. The kids needed cereal. I'm a really cool mom and let them eat "junk" cereal. It's just a way of life when you're trashy. Their favorite cereals are Lucky Charms and Froot Loops.
These two cereals weren't on sale and I didn't have any coupons either. I turned to Rainbow Treasures. This huge, 2 lbs bag is only $3.99, but was on sale for $3.50. Plus, it comes in no box, so it's more environmental friendly.
If you don't have coupons and you don't care about generics - remember to look at the "price per pound" or whatever unit to maximize your deal. This bag of cereal, not on sale is $2/lbs. Most boxed cereals range from $2.50-$4 per pound. Sometimes sales will bring the name brand to be cheaper than the generics, sometimes not. Looking at the cost per unit is a better indicator of true cost - since cereals all come in different size boxes...and bags.
