I hooked up Stop & Shop for a few necessities that we ran out of (i.e. bread, syrup, produce). Here are a few deals I scored along the way:
- Used my 5% off coupon from that Nature's Promise mailing (put it on top of your coupon stack for extra savings). Saved me $2.29.
- Free Nature's Promise cookies with coupon from mailing.
- Gulden's Mustard - Sale $1. There was a BOGO Free MFC in the paper 2 weeks ago. These are normally $1.79 each. So .50 each is pretty good.
- French's Yellow Mustard - 2/$3. Used $1/2 MFC from paper this week for $1 ea (we must eat a lot of mustard in this house).
- Ronzoni Smart Taste - Sale $1. There is a $1/1 MFC in the June Parents magazine. This was FREE!
- Weight Watchers Cream Cheese - $2.04. Used $1/1 MFC from WW flyer at meeting. $1.04.
- 2 Bush's Grillin' Beans. $1.67 ea ($1/2 MFC from paper). $1.17 ea. Some varieties are lower cal/lower fat than others so just look at the labels really quick. I got some Texas Ranchero variety.
- Renuzit Crystal Elements. $5.39. Had $3/1 MFC from paper and a $1/1 Jimmy Fund Coupon. $1.39. This is just crap I didn't need but coupons made me buy it.
- Banquet Mac & Cheese - $1. Had a FREE Banquet Meal winner from a Jimmy Fund Ticket.
- KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce. $1.79. $1/1 MFC from paper. .79 cents for some finger lickin' good BBQ Sauce.
- Hebrew National Hot Dogs - BOGO Free @ $4.99 ea ($1/1 MFC from the paper this week)
- Mezzetta Pepperoncinis - $2.79 (.50/1 MFC from All You Magazine DOUBLES) $1.79
Another highlight from this trip was being behind the biggest snob of all. It amazes me how rude some people can be. She was just mean to the cashier, mean to the bagger, complaining about the produce quality (as if the cashier can control that or even cares...). Then she went off about how flimsy the paper bags are. I don't think the ginormous stick in her ass could get wedged any higher if she tried. But on the flip side, she was really ugly (God bless her husband because I would shoot myself if I had to look at her face everyday)...but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Shaw's Finds This Week
So I really suck at this blogging thing lately. I know. I've been at it for a year and a half, and honestly, I do see it as a hobby and I love playing around with coupons and grocery stores and whatnot - but finding the time to blog is kind of hard. I still play the game, I'm just not motivated to blog about it. Well I just got back from Shaw's. Here's some cheap/free crap I found:
- 3 Musketeer bars. On sale for .49. There was just a .25/1 MFC in the Red Plum. I got two through the grocery mailing and the Boston Globe. So 2 free 3 Musketeer bars!
- Lloyd's Shredded processed meat crap - $6.69 ea (There were BOGO Free coupons right there in front of these tubs of meat). I love meat. It's my WW weakness. I've been trying to eat more "healthy" and "fresh" - but I can schlop a 1/4 cup of this on an Arnold Sandwich Thin and have a pretty tasty 3 point snack.
- Pepsi 12-pack/chip deal. I did this. We love soda. My husband loves chips in his lunch. $1.50 a 12-pack and $6.99 for 22 bags of chips works for me. I also used the $1/1 Chip MFC that was just in the paper insert. So it was only $5.99 for 22 bags of chips and wicked cheap soda.
- Edy's Fruit Bars. On sale this week for $2.99 (normally $4.99). I had a $1.50/2 MFC that spit out at the register so $1.75 each. The Acai Blackberry or whatever is only 60 cals - so I think those are just 1 WW Point - it might be 2. Either way - good snack.
- Picked up 4 packs of Sargento Shredded Cheese. I didn't have any coupons, but for $1.50 a pack, it's a steal!
- 20 Yoplait Yogurts. My husband is a yogurt junky. These are .50 cents per week (he takes them to work so buying a big container isn't something I'm really all about doing). I had 2 $1/10 MFCs from the paper. So 20 for $8. But then, a $2 CAT spit out for me. So it's kind of like 20 yogurts for $6. Or .30 ea.
- That new French's Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce is part of the $1.49 sale on French's products. There have been $1/1 MFCs in the paper for this. I used one. .49 cents for some dip. My kids will eat anything as long as they have something to dip it in.
And that, my friends, is my Shaw's experience this week.

CVS Run
Started with $5 ECBs
Cash OOP: $23.17
ECBs Earned: $18.50
Net: $4.67
A great week to jump into CVS! I've been "CVSing" for a few weeks - nothing too big, but it's been fun. Here's tonight's trip:
2 Right Guards - $2.69 ($2 ECBs on both)
2 Kids Colgate - BOGO Free @ $2.99 ea
2 Twizzlers - $2 ea ($2/2 CVS coupon at printer)
2 Reach Floss - $1.99 ea (2 $1/1 MFCs from paper a while ago - earned $4 ECBs on 2) MONEY MAKER!
Schick Hydro 5 - $8.99 ($5/1 MFC from paper this week, $4 ECBs Earned) MONEY MAKER
Crest Pro Health - $3.50 ($3.50 ECBs Earned)
1 Huggies - $8.49 ($1.50/1 MFC from paper, $2 ECBs earned)
1 Micheman (I don't know the spelling and too lazy to look) $2.99 (.75/1 MFC from paper, $1 ECBs earned)
So if I didn't have the impulse purchases of the Kid's Colgate and Twizzlers - I'd pretty much break even. Definitely a great week to bank some ECBs...

Couponing for Community Update
I've decided to take part in the Couponing for Community event going on! Here is day 1's finds. It's mostly stuff I found around my house. I did a Shaw's trip tonight so I will be adding stuff to this tomorrow. I'm exhausted and going to sleep. 9:05 pm and going to bed....this is very much a first for me.
My big find tonight was cereal. 5 boxes of Raisin Bran at Shaw's (for the New England participant!) is $9.95 ($1.99 ea). I printed off 2 $1.50/2 boxes from SmartSource.com (I think this coupon is now just $1/2). So $7 OOP for 5 boxes of cereal - BUT you get a $4 CAT when you buy 5. So $3 (.60 cents ea) for 5 boxes of cereal for the food pantry. Not "free" - but cheap enough for me to be nice.
If you are a Stop & Shop shopper, you can print off 2 .50/1 Wacky Mac coupons at SmartSource.com. These are on sale this week for $1. The coupon will double - leaving you with 2 bags of pasta for free. You can also take great advantage of the Stop & Shop doublers that were in this week's circular.
Many thanks to Kaley at Cha Cha Ching on a Shoestring for coming up with this fabulous idea!

Couponing For Community
I found out about this really awesome thing Kaley over at Cha Ching on a Shoestring is doing (Thanks Michelle at Wicked Cool Deals!). This week, she is challenging bloggers to give a part of their stockpile or couponage away to a homeless shelter.
Kaley has organized a "Couponing for Community" event this week, May 2 - 8. You can RSVP to the event Couponing for Community that Kaley has organized on Facebook. You are also invited to share comments or pictures of the items you are giving away! This is a great opportunity to go through your stash and find stuff that you may not use before its expiration or to just make room for more of your great deals!
I'm going to take part in this to help purge my cabinets and also by scoring pretty cheap things this week at my local stores. I'll be donating what I have to the Weymouth Food Pantry next week during their open hours. I'll post pictures throughout the week of what I have gathered. Is anyone else around here doing this? I don't think you really have to be a "blogger" per se, so donate away!
